Dry Ground

"This is what the LORD says—he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: Do not be afraid, O Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen. For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams." - Isaiah 44:2-4(NIV)

Have you ever gone through a dry season in your life or in your ministry? Listen to Gods words through the prophet Isaiah... "Do not be afraid"...could it be in those dry times in our lives that it is fear that is our drying agent, leaving us cracked and thirsting for that life giving water? Fear can cause all progress to stop. It paralyzes, limits growth, creates doubt, holds us back, and sucks us dry from the joy and prosperity that God has planned for us.

The antidote for fear is faith. Hebrews 11:1 says, "Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." God wants our complete and total faith in Him and Him alone. Ultimately we have the choice...once we identify the fear...we can either choose to give in to it or surrender it to God, trusting that He will help us overcome. Being sure of what we hope for. Maybe God uses the dry times in our lives to point out our fears. God wants us thirsty for Him. Consider the dry times, have we lost sight of His power and promise? He is the source of life giving water. He will continually pour out His life giving water on our dry and thirsty land and His Spirit upon those whose trust rests in Him. That is God's promise...the key to claiming it...Do not be afraid...Trust God.
